Master of Divinity program seeks to train Christian leaders in the areas of applied Christian living and ministry. This program is designed for students who want to aspire to be leaders in Christian ministry. Upon graduation students will have a deep understanding of the church and its context. It will also help to have deeper commitment in developing spiritual maturity in others as well as themselves. It will also inculcate a professional skill that will enable to lead congregation and institution. This program will catalyse to use theological principles to make independently formed judgements on contemporary issues in the post-Christian world.
Graduates are equally prepared to continue their studies to pursue an advanced professional degree.

Admission Requirement

The applicant must meet academic qualifications in one of the categories below to be eligible for admission into the M.Div. program.

1. Successful completion of a B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. or an equivalent or higher university degree). Students who are awaiting results also may apply, and may be provisionally admitted, but they must produce the relevant certificate at the earliest. All admitted candidates will be required to pass interview and entrance exam to be placed in M.Div.
2. Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.) degree accredited by ATA or by the Senate of Serampore or another reputed accrediting agency with a minimum second class. Students who are awaiting results also may apply, and may be provisionally admitted, but they must produce the relevant certificate at the earliest. All admitted candidates will be required to pass interview and entrance exam to be placed in M.Div.
3. Mature candidates (30 years and older) who do not meet the above academic qualifications may also be considered eligible for admission into the M.Div program, subject to passing interview and entrance exams with 75% average. Those with ministry experience will be given priority in this category.
4. B.Th. second class holders from an ATA/ Serampore accredited institution/ equivalent will be admitted to second year of M.Div. They need to pass the interview and entrance exam with 75% average.

The Bachelor of Theology is designed to prepare graduates for ministry and leadership within church and community settings. The B.Th. integrates a well-developed foundation in Christian Studies with a broad and coherent theoretical and practical knowledge in theology and biblical studies. This includes exploration of the Christian tradition as developed historically and within faith traditions. It also includes engagement in the study of the primary texts of the Christian faith (Old and New Testaments) with reflection on how those texts have been interpreted both historically and in contemporary readings. General skills in communication and problem solving are developed alongside specialist knowledge and expertise in their chosen specialization. Theories are applied and professional skills are developed through practical assessments and work-integrated learning.

1. The minimum academic requirement for admission into BTh is successful completion of 12 years of schooling (10+2, Intermediate or Pre-Degree level). All admitted candidates will be required to pass interview and entrance exam to be placed in B.Th.
2. An applicant with Standard X pass and an accredited, two-year Diploma in Theology (DipTh), or a two-year Diploma in any professional course may be considered as having met the eligibility requirement of 12 years of schooling. All admitted candidates will be required to pass interview and entrance exam to be placed in B.Th.
3. Mature candidates (25 years and older) who do not meet the above academic qualifications may also be considered eligible for admission into the B.Th. program, subject to passing interview and entrance exams with 75% average. Those with ministry experience will be given priority in this category.

Diploma of Theology (Dip.Th)

The Diploma of Theology is designed to provide theological education for those in ministry as well as pastors and church planters for effective leadership and ministry skills along with deeper understanding of Scripture and theology. This course provides an opportunity to enhance the understanding of scripture for those who did not get a thorough theological training. It prepares students for a holistic ministry and empowers them for a greater contribution in the ministry field.

Certificate of Theology (C. Th)

The Certificate of Theology is designed to provide grassroot level theological education for those in ministry/ lay persons without a theological training or secular education. This program is designed to provide students with foundational knowledge of Scripture and ministry. It gives a holistic development for ministry in the life of the graduates.
